Q What is helium?
Helium is a gas that is lighter than air and is used to inflate balloons. It’s naturally part of the earth’s atmosphere and is extracted using fractional distillation from natural gas. Helium is non-toxic, non-flammable and not harmful to the environment.
Q Can I inhale helium?
You should never deliberately inhale helium as it may cause you to asphyxiate leading to suffocation and serious harm.
Q Can I buy helium to fill my own balloons?
Here at the balloon man we stock a number of different sized helium cylinders to suit your event and most importantly your budget. We offer both disposable helium tanks and helium tanks that are available for rental. Our disposable helium cylinders are more suited to small events, parties and promotions whilst the rental range is more appropriate for inflating large volumes of balloons.
Q Why do helium balloons deflate more quickly than air?
Helium balloons deflate quicker than air filled balloons because the helium particles are smaller than air particles and so escape through the balloons more easily
Q Should I collect or have my helium filled latex balloons delivered the day before an event or party?
No. You should have your helium latex balloons collected or delivered roughly 2-3 hours before your party as without hi-float, the balloons will only float for 9-10 hrs.
