GASMIG

Cemig is the majority shareholder (59.58%) in Companhia de Gás de Minas Gerais (Gasmig), which also counts Petrobras Gás S.A. - Gaspetro (40%) and the Municipality of Belo Horizonte (0.43%) among its shareholders. It is the only piped natural gas distributor in Minas Gerais. Though Cemig’s main business is the generation, transmission and distribution of electric energy, it is also dedicated to the natural gas distribution business.
Gasmig is the exclusive distributor of piped natural gas in the whole of Minas Gerais State, by Grant or concession, and serves the industrial, residential, general use, compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, automotive and thermoelectric sectors. With a total extension of 805 km, the pipelines run through 40 municipalities in Minas Gerais.
