Cylinder Liners

Description:

Liners are made up of Grey iron, aluminium-steel alloys and given awear-resistant coating of chromium or nickel.Cylinder liners sleeves are either pressed or pushed into the blockof piston engines to form a cylinder wall. A cylinder is thecentral working part of an engine, the space in which a pistontravels. Liners are made up of hard metal such as grey iron,aluminium-steel alloys and given a wear-resistant coating ofchromium or nickel which helps to give longer life and increasedscuff resistance.

Liners are classified under two type headings, ''Dry Liner and''Wet Liner'' Liner size, shape and surface finish are all criticalto good short and long-term bore, ring and piston performance,particularly in respect of scuff and wear. Dry Liners are made inflange and flangeless forms.
