Bubble Football or Bubble Soccer is a team sport involving seven-a-side with each player enclosed in inflatable bubbles as they play towards goal. So, it’s pretty much like ordinary football only with a slight, awesome twist.

If you saw the game being played you would immediately want to jump in because it looks—and is—so much fun. Unlike ordinary football (soccer) where some types of collisions would be considered foul play, in bubble football you are encouraged to bump into your opponent (and if you are into that kind of thing, you could bump into a teammate as well). This is obviously because of that big bubble that protects you from just about everything.

Imagine the pressure and intensity of El Clasico but imagine the players are all in bubbles. Would you take that seriously? Probably not. However, it would be exceptional fun to watch. And that is what bubble football is all about. This is a game with nothing at stake but how much fun you can have. At least until it evolves into a commercial juggernaut with huge sponsors and billions on the line.

It won’t get there, but bubble football will no doubt catch on everywhere. If you love football, you will love bubble football. Much like regular football, this is a game that can be played outdoors on grass, in an indoors gym, or pretty much anywhere you see fit.

There are two goals bubble football on either side of the field or gym as in regular football. The only difference is that there are no goalkeepers. Time is divided into 4 eight-minute quarters with three minute breaks between the quarters. Substitutions can happen throughout the game.

When the match starts (or restarts), teams line up along their goal-line with the ball at the center of the field. When the ball goes out, it is kicked back in instead of thrown. When a player is offside… well, there are no offsides. But there are penalties.

Whether or not you choose to stick to the rules down to the letter is really up to you and your mates. But there is no doubt that whatever you do, once you bump into one of the guys (or girls), you will instantly feel bubble football to buy that rush of joy and be hit with fits of laughter.

This really is a hell of a game that everyone must try when the stress levels are climbing.
