WORLD ELEVATOR & ESCALATOR EXPO 2016
The World Elevator & Escalator Expo 2014, themed with innovation, exchange and cooperation, was successfully held from 13 to 16 May in Guangzhou, with more than 85,000 square meter exhibition space and over 800 exhibitors. The latest technology and equipment were displayed and the total admission reached 112,000.
In addition to the International Elevator Safety Forum themed with reforming of the elevator safety supervision and industrial development, sponsored by China elevator safety watchdog SESA, there were also more the 30 workshops and seminars on high speed elevator, intelligent control technology, new components, new production equipment and technology, enterprise IT technology as well as market of elevator and real estate held during the exhibition.
On the morning of 13th, the opening ceremony, hosted by Mr. Zhang Lexiang, was well attended by some 200 VIP guests. Mr. Wang Runsheng, president of China International Trade Center (Canton Fair), delivered the welcome speech. Mr. Achim Huetter, president of VFA Interlift, made the congratulation speech and Mr. Li Shoulin, president of China Elevator Association, made the opening address. The World Elevator & Escalator Expo 2014 is the 11th session of the elevator professional exhibition sponsored by China Elevator Association since its debut in 1996 in Beijing. With the care and support from the industry, this exhibition has become one of the largest, most influential of its kind in the world.
The success of the World Elevator & Escalator Expo is benefited by the huge market and production capabilities in China. prompted by the open policy and strong demand, the China elevator industry has made great changes with ever-growing industrial scale, rapid upgrade of technical capabilities in the last 20 years’ effort of our whole industry. Now China elevator industry has become an indispensable part of world elevator industry. The total unit production of elevator and escalator in China reached 633 thousand, with 66 thousand of which were exported to 145 countries and regions, taking up about 70% of world total new installations. At the sometime the component as well as the installation and maintenance has also developed well, formed a complete industrial chain, supporting the fast development of the industry. By the end of 2013, the total number of operating installations in China was over 3 million, 1/4 of the world total. Although the Chinese per capita installations was over the world average, but still far behind the those of developed countries, so China still has huge development potentials.
According to the industrial development demand and proposal of the elevator professionals, the next World Elevator & Escalator Expo will be held from 10 to 13 May 2016 at the newly-built National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).
